The Altra FWD VIA is a cushioned running shoe featuring Altra's EGO FLO midsole foam, a nitrogen-infused compound engineered for responsive cushioning with reduced weight. The shoe incorporates a 4mm drop and rocker-shaped geometry intended to facilitate forward propulsion and smooth transitions. A notably spacious toe box accommodates foot swell during running, and the low drop supports a forefoot-striking gait pattern.

The FWD VIA addresses several common running-related foot conditions, including heel spurs, high arches, Morton's neuroma, and Achilles tendonitis.
